Apple Fold & Cut Scissor Skills Craft
Turn cutting practice into a fun surprise with this easy apple craft! These fold-and-cut apple templates give kids meaningful scissor skills practice while creating an apple they can decorate, write on, and use with your favorite fall and Apple Day activities.
Prep is simple. Print the activity, cut it apart, and fold it along the provided line. Kids cut the folded paper along the apple outline—and then open it for the big reveal! One cutting path creates a complete apple.
With four sizes of apple cut outs, plus optional patterns and writing lines to print on the back, it's easy to adapt the activity for preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, special education, and occupational therapy.

- Small, medium, large, and extra-large apple shapes

MORE THAN AN APPLE CRAFT
These apple cutting activities were intentionally designed to give kids purposeful fine motor practice.
As kids cut along the folded apple outline, they practice scissor control, hand strength, bilateral coordination, and turning the paper while cutting. Then comes the fun part—they unfold the paper to discover the complete apple they created.
After cutting, kids can color and decorate their apples or use them for additional learning activities.
ADD WRITING PRACTICE
Print the optional writing lines on the back to turn the finished apple into a simple writing activity.
Use the lines for:
- Apple vocabulary
- Five senses observations
- Apple taste-test results
- Apple facts
- Letter A practice
- Apple life cycle writing
- Simple sentence starters
- Fall writing prompts
Beginning writers can copy a single word or label their apple, while more experienced writers can add phrases or sentences.
